Walking Trails & Pedestrian Access

The Americans with Disabilities Act (ADA) prohibits discrimination against people with disabilities in employment, transportation, public accommodation, communications, and governmental activities.

Providing Safe & Accessible Walkways

This law has provided extreme relief to persons across Oklahoma dealing with disabilities. This design unit is very dear to our heart as a company. No person bound to a wheel chair or other device should be required or compelled to travel in the vehicle traffic lane in order to get to health care or primary shopping.

Myers has completed over 40 walking trail and pedestrian access projects. Funding for these projects has come from the ODOT TAP Program (current equivalent of TEA 21), Reap Funds, CDBG Funds, Safe Routes to Schools and Local Funds.

Our vast experience is helpful and essential for any community working to provide accessible routes in their service area.
